What is Kynren? This Epic Tale of England is an unforgettable outdoor live-action theatre experience, set against the backdrop of Auckland Palace. It’s a multi-award-winning spectacle which immerses you in 2,000 years of history through dramatic storytelling, stunning visuals, and spellbinding performances. A tale seen through the eyes of Young Arthur, the son of a mining family from the North East, embarking on a quest to discover who he is and where he has come from, Arthur travels through 2,000 years of history, myth and legend. Rebellions, wars, magic, majesty, celebration and heartache are vividly brought to ground-shaking life in this unforgettable live action night show. Our weekend break also includes visits to the wonderful City of Durham, historic Whitby and is there a more historic city in England than York??

Day One
We travel to our hotel enjoying a visit to York en-route. With a Viking & Roman history it's a great way to get us into the mood for our historic weekend.
EMDay Two
We have a late morning departure to Durham to spend a few hours in this wonderful historic City, complete with UNESCO World Heritage Site around the stunning Cathedral and Castle. We return to our hotel for an early dinner before making the short journey to Bishop Auckland for the spectacular Kynren Show. This epic outdoor theatre spectacle takes audiences through iconic moments from England's past - from Boudicca's battles with the Romans to Vikings, Tudors and the fate of Charles I. With a cast and crew of 1,000 on a breathtaking 7.5 acre stage, you'll see awe-inspiring stunts, incredible horsemanship, dazzling pyrotechnics and jaw-dropping special effects.

We journey through the North Yorkshire Moors to Whitby to spend the day enjoying all that this historic seaside and harbour town has to offer.

We journey home includes a visit to lovely Knaresborough before returning to the North West for approx.. 4.30pm
