Take a journey with us to Northern Ireland’s unique Causeway Coast as we slow down and immerse ourselves in the wild beauty of this dramatic coastline. We’ll take our time to enjoy the spectacular scenery as well as discover the classic seaside town of Portrush, historic city of Derry and beautiful Glenarm Walled Garden. Carol & Chris were lucky to experience much of this holiday on a conference in 2026 and were so taken by it – here it is for all of you to enjoy too.

Day One

An early morning start as we head North to Cairnryan (Scotland) for our ferry crossing over to Belfast. On arrival we then make the journey to our hotel where we spend the next 4 nights.

Day Two

This morning, with an early start to beat the crowds, we visit the extraordinary and famous Giant’s Causeway and its award-winning Visitor Centre where we learn about the mystery of this unique landscape. Afterwards, we enjoy a scenic drive west along the mighty Causeway Coastal Route, stopping at Maghera Cross, a fantastic viewing platform where we can enjoy the spectacular views. We spend the rest of the afternoon at leisure exploring the picturesque seaside resort town of Portrush, known for its pastel-coloured cafes, antique shops, ice cream parlours and the famous Golf Course.

Day Three

Today we travel west to Derry. On arrival we embark on a fascinating 2-hour part step-on guide and walking tour “unlocking the Walled City” as we discover tales of 400 years from past to present of the city. We have the afternoon at leisure to explore Ireland’s only intact historic Walled City with its award-winning museums and of course famous for the iconic TV programme, the Derry Girls.

Day Four

This morning, we visit the historic and award-winning Glenarm Walled Garden. Surrounded with an abundance of varied planting, spectacular flowers and vegetables, stroll around and immerse yourself in these cleverly designed Victorian gardens full of colour, scent and beauty. From the Yew Circle and Herb Garden to the Woodland Walk entrance, and views of the North Channel from the Mount. Afterwards, we’ll soak up more natural coastal scenery as we return north alongside the spectacular Antrim Coast.

Day Five

It's back to Belfast for our crossing back to Cairnryan and then continue onwards back to the North West

The Lodge Hotel, Coleraine * * *

A 3* family run hotel on the edge of Coleraine offering a personal touch, excellent food and spacious rooms. The traditional bar and lounge is the ideal place to relax after a busy day sightseeing, whilst the comfortable bedrooms, which are in a separate building to the main hotel, but linked by covered walkways include, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryer & iron. Lift.
